  • Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for submitting! Danielle and I will have a look and post comments shortly.

  • This looks like a great start! Right off the bat, I have some thoughts.

First, while offering hon/mem gifts is great, be sure you don't exclude donors who want to give a regular gift. Many donors during this time of year simply want to evaluate their finances and make their philanthropic decisions, factoring in the tax benefits of giving. Also, the holiday season is a psychologically generous time. Most donors may just want to make a standard gift. That being said, it is easy to create a 2nd donation form and add the hon/mem options. It would be a nice compliment to your overall EOY campaign. You can promote it both in the sidebar of your messages as an additional giving option and include a link to it from your regular EOY donation form.

I suggest two forms because those hon/mem fields can clutter up your regular form. Keep it streamlined so you donors don't get distracted. Also, if you use 2 forms, you can enable the donation eCards on your hon/mem form if you like so that your donors can optionally send their own notification card to the honoree. Creating a holiday eCard stationery or two would be a nice touch.

I really like your giving level descriptions. They are clear, concise, and tangible. I also like the range you chose. You're right on track here.

I LOVE your narrative ideas. Providing healthcare, regardless of ability to pay, is powerful and a clear motivator for support. Also, highlighting the new care center is great. Are there additional costs associated with this new center? Perhaps setting some goals for the extra stuff involved in opening a new facility would create some excitement and encourage giving. For example, is there a children's play area that needs games? Maybe a lab that needs supplies? Of course, you aren't able to fundraise for the facility itself since it is already built, but outfitting the new center is a goal in itself (and one that you can use ongoing in other fundraising appeals).

I hope that helps! I'm looking forward to seeing the final product!

  • Thanks for taking the time to fill out the concept form. Hopefully it got your creative juices flowing!

For your theme, I challenge you to make it more mission focused. While I always like the option to make honorary donations during the holidays, your donors give to you because of your mission, programs and accomplishments.

Great gift examples, it really ties the money to making an impact and that is so important these days because our donors want results.

For promotions, you might consider sharing the message (if you're not already planning this) with your staff and/or Board so they can forward to their friends and possibly post on their social sites. Don't forget to promote this on your website, on your home page, in an eNews if you have one and if you have a donation page that lists several ways to give, I would include a link for EOY giving.
