Place and Fan page merge

Hi Arielle,

This was hard to find but it appears that when the page was merged with the place a message stats that once merged, it can't be undone. I even found a facebook group dedicated to the unmerging of the two here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Unmerge-Places-My-Business-Page/108546515877098.

It looks like a new fan page will have to be created. Luckily this can be done for you included in the Service Module, there is a section for creating a Fan Page from scratch in the guide that you will need to be sure to fill out.

We've already built a strong fan base so I wouldn't want to recreate the process or have multiple pages. Unfortunately Facebook does not provide a preview or inform that the format of the "place" page will change, which is why I'm already part of that petition group trying to regain control. Hopefully there are other outlets that allow for administrators to control the format.

Yeah. I read multiple people who experienced exactly what you are describing. If you find out more information I'd be interested in know more about this issue. I'll try and keep my ear to the ground as well, they sometimes post their longterm plans on their Developer Blog so that might be something worth following: http://developers.facebook.com/blog/
