Allowing donors to opt-in to consents

I'm looking for a way to be compliant with Quebec's bill 25 privacy law which states that constituents must be able to opt-in to all email or mail solicitations. I have added the consent options to the donor and event forms, but I'm trying to find a way to contact all our 10K+ constituents and have them fill out a form where they can choose which consent category they want. (ex school updates, alumni news, newsletter only). Since I can't embed this in an email, nor can I use the consent options outside of the donation forms how can I do this? Is running a Google form and using an import the only option?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    @Marissa Stimpson - I recommend using an online census form for this, a google form is a good option. If you have Power Automate there is a potential you could automate this so that the data from the form comes into RE in real time through the consent feature.

    @Austen Brown - I was really hoping there was a way to do this in Blackbaud. I'm hoping that it will get added as a Donor Portal feature. As this seems to be the best way for donors to control what they hear from us and ultimately be happier donors!

    @Marissa Stimpson - Make sure the idea is represented in the RE NXT Idea Bank, that is where BB Developers look to for what areas of the system they should improve.

    @Marissa Stimpson Hi Marissa, fellow Canadian here, I get where you are coming from! This has been an ongoing pain point for me, with most of the orgs I have done work for, especially as Canada is getting stricter privacy laws with each year that passes. In the past, we linked to a google form, and then imported the consent. The biggest challenge is that while it does work if folks fill it out, users are turned off when they have to do extra clicks, or are taken outside the form, so we didn't get as many as we would like but at least you are meeting the obligation.

    @Aldera Chisholm I found a temporary solution in the Events module. Consent options were recently added so we are planning on doing a “consent event” where everyone can fill out the form and have it link directly to their account. I'll probably do this closer to the end of the school year so I'll let you know how it goes!

    @Marissa Stimpson Please let me know how using the event form works for you! I couldn't quite get it set up so that it didn't look confusing, even with a free event but the consent section there would be perfect. Please keep me posted!!

    @Aldera Chisholm We started to put it together and it was a mess like you said. We do have a page on our website for staying in touch so we may find a way to embed that into upcoming communications. It was an idea, but alas ….
