Validate addresses on Raiser's Edge 7 - to include county

in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT®: General Discussion

We are looking to bulk check addresses on RE7. Address Accelerator will not work for us as we need counties adding. Going forward we want to run periodic repeats of this process.

Hoping someone can help with recommendations.

    @Kim Marks - Address Accelerator does include county. It can be run as new addresses are added or in bulk through Database View > Data Health Center.

    Hi @Austen Brown My understanding was they use Royal Mail PAF (postal address formatting) which doesn’t include county, but this could have changed and I am not aware of it. I will get in touch with Blackbaud. Thank you.

    @Kim Marks - My apologies for assuming you were located in the US. I recommend you reach out to support to see what is included in the UK version.

    @Austen Brown I did contact Blackbaud. They referred me to

    which states “Address Accelerator uses the Royal Mail database to validate UK addresses. Royal Mail have made the decision to no longer use counties for postal addresses however their database still holds the county values they’d used prior to making this decision. This means that Address Accelerator can return UK addresses where some counties are either invalid or have been replaced by more up to date counties. Blackbaud has no control over making changes to the values in this database, however Royal Mail no longer considers these when delivering mail to customers.”

    So unfortunately I continue my quest.
