email recipient graphic in NXT

Options

Can someone briefly explain how RE NXT comes up with the # recipients in the email metrics graphic? I sent the email to a list of 2,100 constituents, all of which had email addresses. The graphic shows that there were 1,700 recipients. The email list filters out "requests no email = no," email inactive = no, and phone do not contact = no, solicit code does not equal "do not email." The email type = email (not only to primary emails). The number bounced is 35. No duplicate emails are included.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

@Audrey Katzman - I recommend you reach out to support on this.

  • @Audrey Katzman There's a lot of backend things that can change that number so that it doesn't match what was on the list. We usually see some Constituents in the list that don't have email addresses, most common for us. NXT will also filter out some that you don't see and can't plan for based on other reasons.

I'm not sure how to find those people, but they could have unsubscribed in the past in some way or they have something on their consent that restricts email.

Definitely something I think needs to be improved upon by Blackbaud if you're going to use this for email as there is very little data available in an easy to access format, like some other sections within NXT. I would love to have a report generated for each email sent that shows all relevant information you get from other email programs. It's a shame this is not something they added in.

  • The recipient count in RE NXT's email metrics might exclude unsubscribed, inactive, or non-contactable constituents despite a sent count of 2,100 emails. Bounces might contribute to this discrepancy.
