  • @Jolynn Uyehara We are using ImportOmatic. Can't say enough how much time it has saved me. I regularly use it to import our online gifts (we use EA), gift files we receive from our lockbox, iWave screening results, and NCOA updates that our direct mail mail house sends back. It took some effort to set up the profiles, and some of them require a bit of clean up either before or after the import (due to the vagaries of our db and required fields) but it is still simpler and much quicker than when we were using the native import function for these imports.

  • @Jolynn Uyehara in my opinion, Omatic is the best/easiest way to get information in/out of RE. They have a variety of options and - once set up - it can make imports or posting to your GL very easy.

@Jolynn Uyehara We use importomatic and MergeO matic and use them a lot. I can't imagine our gift processing without Importomatic.

  • I'm definitely an “Omatic Fanatic”! We've been using ImportOmatic at Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver since 2018 and it has been a lifesaver. We use it to sync data from our VolunteerHub database, lots of different third-party gift processors, and it has been crucial to the success of our participation in a new collaborative direct mail initiative led by Habitat for Humanity International. We're actively looking at upgrading to Omatic Cloud and getting some Connectors so that we can further automate our VolunteerHub data entry and have bidirectional integration between RE and our email marketing system. When you're looking at the price, just keep in mind how much you would need to pay someone to do all of your regular data retrieval, formatting, transformation, importing, and quality control. Omatic's solutions don't require any benefits and they never take time off ?

  • @Rachel Bailey How expensive is the software? I can definitely see the benefit, but is it worth it?

  • @Gloria Litwinowicz They are not cheap but I believe the price depends on the size of your database and how many solutions you want as well as whether you will be using the Cloud or the “classic” version. You can get a quote from Omatic.

  • @Rachel Bailey

Hi Rachel, did your organization end up upgrading to Omatic Cloud? If so, how are you liking it? We're considering the upgrade, but I'm not sure yet if the benefit is worth the cost. One of the things I'm most curious about is how managing potential dupes and other data points in Omatic Cloud's queuing function compares to how one has to manage these things in IO. We currently have ImportOmatic and then a connector for pulling information from our CRM.

    Hi Rachel.

I am attempting to build a case to purchase the OMATIC plug in to help us manage our

    Grateful Patient program.

With this plug in, can we use workflows and automatic e-mails from NXT like we do with normal constituents?

Can you “query” these non-constituents like regular constituents?

    Thanks

    Hello,

I am attempting to build a case to purchase the OMATIC plug in to help us manage our

Grateful Patient program we just purchased from Blackbaud.

With this plug in, can we use workflows and automatic e-mails from NXT like we do with normal constituents? We do not have an “outside” e-mail platform. All of our e-mail goes through NXT.

Also, can you “query” inside of Raiser's Edge on these non-constituents just like your regular constituents?

    Thanks

  • @Alayna Hamilton, we did end up getting Omatic Cloud and haven't had time to fully implement it yet; things have been crazy! I would recommend getting a demo so you can see the duplicate matching process in real time. The sales folks will send you several emails and maybe even call you afterwards trying to get you to upgrade, but they're feelings won't be hurt if you say “no”; rejection is part of their job ? They probably have recorded demos and how-tos on their YouTube channel or in their support site, too.

  • @Potique Johnson, when you import folks into Raiser's Edge using Omatic it will update or create full Constituent Records, just like if you did a Constituent Import from Raiser's Edge Database View. You can then apply workflows to them, group them in Lists/queries, and send them emails from NXT. Even if you are using Omatic to import “child records” like Gifts, Actions, Relationships, etc. you will always need to map your import to an Individual or Organization “parent record” for them to be tied to.

  • @Rachel Bailey
Rachel I'm confused. The OMATIC guy just told me that since List Management non-constituent records are only live and are accessible within database view only, the proposed workflow of using a static query within NXT would not be compatible with non constituent records.

Have you tried doing work flows yourself with non-constituent records from OMATIC? Have you been successful sending out RE NXT e-mails out to the non-constituents?

    Thanks for clarification. pjohnson@mercycare.org
