Automating Refreshing of Model Scores and Rating

Options

Hello,

I was just informed that I will need to e-mail our Blackbaud rep to refresh model scores and ratings of our constituents. We pay a huge premium for Raiser's Edge and it seems odd to me that we have to take time out of our day to call/ e-mail to put in these requests. Is this the normal process or is there a way to automate refreshing of these scores/ ratings that our organization just isn't familiar with? Thank you for your advice!

@Hannah Lee If you are talking about the NXT ratings, I didn't even know that you could request them to be refreshed. I haven't really ever given them much credence or value, but I do know that they come in about 24 - 48 hours after the record was created, and are refreshed at what seems to be a random interval after a year has passed. I don't know what the catalyst is for the refresh.

That said, I've always relied on more concrete modeling and rating applications which allowed me to search and screen on demand. That way, I have more control over the ratings, and people aren't looking at a value that isn't consistent across the board in regards to age of the rating.

  • @Hannah Lee, when we first migrated to NXT I remember contacting support because none of our ratings were appearing. (Found out you can't have period punctuations in the middle name field.) She told me that they refresh automatically once a year. Make sure that if you email for a special refresh, that you're not going to be charged for an additional service.

  • @Dariel Dixon thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. Can you recommend the modeling/ rating application you are utilizing?

@Hannah Lee I've used several prospecting tools, from iWave to WealthEngine. I think that all of tools have different pros and cons, but they all work in similar fashion. ResearchPoint integrates well with RE, being a Blackbaud product, but it is super pricey. As is LexisNexis, but I did like the product and the data it returned. In regards to appeals, AskGenius seems to be very popular for ask amount variation.

It will come down to price, ease of use, and level of confidence. I think that all of them are worth looking into, but recognize that these products are on another level than the very basic NXT ratings, and as such are an investment.
