Grateful Patient

Options

For the new year our Hospital Foundation is establishing a new Grateful Patient process. We are new to using through Raisers Edge/NXT and need to set-up and develop our new process. I am reaching out to see how others set this up ?

    @Jennifer Kluh I think you need to be a little more specific with your question. Are you talking about how you coded constituents, or how you handled grateful patient appeals?

    When I worked for a hospital, we had several grateful patient appeals. Some were annual mailings, and some were available in certain places within the hospital. For us, they were just regular donors. The biggest part is we never captured any data that would possibly identify their ailment or infirmary. We never had a need to keep that information, and the risks outweighed the rewards.

    We also did a lot with tributes and for families. It might be worth considering how you categorize the donor as grateful patient gifts are often given from the patient's loved ones and not the patient themselves.
