Double the Donation plugin?

Options

Has anyone used the Double the Donation matching gift plugin, integrated with NXT or OLX donation forms? I'm curious how this has worked for others. Specifically if you have a Wordpress website, I'd appreciate your input!

@Faith Murray - I have not, but I am very curious to hear experiences on how it is working for others! Thanks for posting this question!

  • @Faith Murray We use it at my org. So far, we haven't seen a super great ROI, but most people are coming back as ineligible or just don't open the email. I've also had to tweak the emails so that the donor only gets one reminder. Before, they were set to get multiple “Your company does matching gifts!” at different intervals, and that was annoying people. Your mileage may vary. You do have to manually input when a matching gift is received, which can be a bit of a pain on top of the 400 other projects you've got going on in a DB role.

  • @Bobby Steurer that's good to know! May I reach out to you next week and pick your brain with any questions we have after our demo? Your reference to email reminders has my interest especially, because we wouldn't want to nag our donors with automated prompts either.

I've only integrated it with Luminate Online forms, but we've had good feedback! In general I've been impressed.

To be transparent, I've basically used it as set and forget. I just don't have the bandwidth to actively interact with DD.

  • @Faith Murray We've have DTD integrated with NXT and OLX since September, but we had to temporarily pause integration before we ever used it. There is currently no way to create an exception for tribute gifts. We are hoping to find a work around, but in the meantime we feel like we can't take the chance of someone donating in memory of a loved one receiving an automatic “Make your gift go further!” email. It seems a little insensitive. The solution we've come up with working with DTD is for each gift to get a gift attribute of Yes/No to receive the automatic DTD email and build our exception around that, but that's an additional step in the gift entry process.
