    @Faith Murray Thanks for posting!

  • @Faith Murray:

    Thank you, Faith! I've passed this along to my team.

  • @Faith Murray I am subscribing. I have not had a chance to do anything with this yet. My thought is to add a statement to the receipt letters of donors making recurring gifts. Also adding in wording to some other letters as well. I am interested to hear what others are doing. My guess is that all of the credit card companies will ask for this. Thanks for posting this, I was not aware of the extension!

    @Angela Tuttle - If you haven't seen the webinar from BBMS on this, I recommend you catch the next viewing on Sept 12. They shared a lot of really useful information, including details on what is required with this. Click here to register for the upcoming webinar.

  • Update: this news has now been included to the recent Nonprofit Pro newsletter. You can read the full recommendations here - in addition to watching BB's webinar. ;-)

  • Does anyone know if the requirements are required for gifts with installments set-up.

    @Beth Romano - It is also for pledges that are paid via recurring installments by credit card. I recommend you check out the link to the webinar I posted below. The webinar covers this and more!

  • @Faith Murray Thank you for sharing this! I have a question that I'm hoping others may be able to help with. For our donors that are set up with recurring monthly donations (roughly 500), we have them set up to receive a consolidated receipt each January. Will we need to have those people sign/fill out something stating that they request a consolidated receipt instead of a monthly receipt? Will this be ok with MasterCard?

    @Julie VanErsvelde - This was covered in BB's webinar, I recommend you sign-up to attend the next one on Sept 12. Click here to register for the upcoming webinar.

  • @Austen Brown I'm already signed up! Glad it will be covered. Sounds like I might get a lot of answers after watching.

    For those who missed the webinar: yes, Mastercard allows for opt-outs to the monthly emails. I would be clear in your opt-out language that “Yes, I want to opt out of monthly acknowledgements and receive an annual statement instead.”

    Then you need to record that opt-out documentation in their record. My thought is to record it in their Consent box but also to keep an image of their response in Notes, Media, or a hard file. (I personally would not rely on Attachments to document this important legal permission, since webview Attachments are not backed up.)
