Receipting RMD gifts to non-profits

When you receive a RMD to your non-profit organization, do you send them a tax receipt or just an acknowledgement letter?

    @Rachel Schafer - We only send acknowledgment letters which is their receipt if applicable. For our RMD donations, the donor receives a specific language stating who the check was received from, along with Internal Revenue Code language that our organization is a public charity and no goods or services were rendered, etc.
