Gift memberships?

We have lots of requests for people who want to purchase gift memberships for a friend or relative. I'm curious to hear how others handle this using the Online Giving tools.

Here are a few clients that have implemented gift membership options via Convio Fundraising:

National Trust for Historic Preservation

The Nature Conservancy

Union of Concerned Scientists

I'm not sure of the exact business processes supporting these within these organizations, but they were all accomplished using the Online Giving functionality.

Thanks! It looks like I need to set it up as its own campaign so its obvious when we receive email notifications of memberships that it isn't for the person buying the membership but someone else.
