Does performing duplicate task remove the other record?

When importing files recently, we've received the following error for some records: "This record only matched records in Convio that had been removed." The constituents do have records in constituent 360, so the only thing we can think of is that it has something to do with running the duplicate task and merging records. Is this true, and if so, what can we do to workaround this issue other than manually updating the record with the new information?

  • Love to know the answer to this one myself.

  • I seem to remember that the upload functionality had a bug that was matching a removed record then not looking for any other match on any active records. This was when email address was being used as the matching criteria. To answer you question resolving duplicates does put the "other" record in a removed status with a specific note that it was removed as a duplicate.

    If you see that the behavior that I described is still happening file a support ticket so that we may investigate the issue and if necessary we can open a bug.
