Unsubscribe Link

Options

I got the following message when approving an eNewsletter, " Your message body does not contain an unsubscribe link." I assumed the unsubscribe link in the footer would suffice for this requirement. I don't recall this issue being mentioned in the training tutorials, but in the meantime will review for additional information.

  • Hi Jim - The unsubscribe link in the footer should definitely suffice. If you already have an unsubscribe link in the footer of the HTML-formatted version of the message, you may want to check the plain text version and make sure an unsubscribe link appears there as well. The Convio email system will check both versions of the message for the appropriate unsubscribe link.

Interesting, the Plain Text version does not have the unsubscribe link. I copied an existing email and assumed it would have all the necessary formatting.

Just sent a plain text version of the eNewsletter and it does have the unsub. link where the HTML footer would be. Should the message approve? Perhaps I am missing something else. Jim.

    Hi Jim,

I just logged in to take a look and it looks like you were able to deliver the email message already... sorry if this advice is coming late:

As Patrick mentioned, if the stationery you are using has the unsubscribe link in the stationery, then this should suffice. I have seen times when the stationery has the unsubscribe link, BUT the plain text version of the stationery does not have the unsubscribe link. In this case, you have two ways that you can fix this:

    1) You can edit the stationery and make sure that an unsub link is in the plain text version (the unsub link for DPSOA is: http://dpsoa.convio.net/site/CO ) and then of course save your changes to the stationery.

    2) You can add the unsub link to the plain text version of the email message body and this should also fix the problem (the same link will work in the message body: http://dpsoa.convio.net/site/CO

Let me know if this solves the issue or if we can explain further,

    Adam
