Removing a Team and Its Only Participant - who is Team Captain

I've searched through the documentation on this, but can't seem to get things to work. Clearly I have to make the registration inactive, but can't do this while he is a team captain. What's the easiest way of handling? He signed up for the wrong event, so we want to make sure we remove him from this TeamRaiser before he signs up for another.

Can this be handled both thru Convio back end and thru Event Manager (which several of our staff still use)?

  • The following are the steps I recommend:

    • 1. Look up the participant from within the Manage TR view. Select the team captain's name

    • 2. Select "Change team membership" within the profile tab

    • 3. Select "Remove the participant from all teams"

    • 4. Select "Make Inactive"

    Shout if that doesn't do the trick.

  • Think I've found the problem - there was another team member who had to be moved first. Apparently then, when there are no other members, Convio will let you remove the team since only the captain remains.
