Compare YOY donations by month via a dashboard module?

Options

Hi! this forum was so helpful last time I had a question, I thought I'd try my luck a second time too.

Setting up a dashboard for our new Development Director that shows our Appeal donations from last fiscal year and this fiscal year. (one module for one year, a second module for the current year). Its great to see over all production.

Curious if there is a way to break this down further to see how many donations came in per month from last year vs per month this year.

Is my best option creating a query for that?

Hi @Alicia Valtierra - Do you have NXT or only database view?

I I do believe only database view via citrix.

Based on what I remember of RE7 Dashboards, I believe a query would be the best option for this.

If you had NXT this would be much easier as users are able to deep-dive on presented data, to see what gifts (or number of gifts) encompass that element of a graph or area of the dashboard. Quick plug - if/when your org considers upgrading NXT ask to take a look at Insight Designer (custom dashboard builder) within your demo. We have found this ‘add-on’ to be very useful.

Ahh, I had a feeling this was going to be my answer. I'm VERY new to RE and was given the schooling of videos to watch to learn about the software. I ended up learning a LOT about NXT and thought “wow, this is really streamlined” and then found out we don't use it! A shame. I'm slowly trying to convince them to make the switch. I'll make sure to add this talking point to my next attempt at conversion lol. Thank you for your help!!
