NCOA Address Updates in NXT

Options
We have been using the automated NCOA process in NXT every quarter since last July and our data entry staff are reporting a decline in the accuracy of the data being returned. Of most concern is that they have reported that out of date addresses are appearing. Has anyone else experienced this?

Also, we miss not being able to follow up on the address attributes that used to be added for closed PO Boxes, Address Changed but secondary information not available, etc. Were we the only ones who used to research certain of these codes to try and stay in touch with donors?

Thanks for your feedback!

I'm fairly new to AddressFinder in NXT. It's run once since I started.  I will say I was surprised by a number of our 'bad addresses.' Local business, maybe they didn't forward but I find that hard to believe, and several corporate HQ's with closed PO boxes.  I'm pretty sure they would have forward order. Was hoping for big things with the automation.  Guess I'll adjust my expectations.
  • Those are the exact reasons we have not moved to the automated process but continue to use the old method.  We review and update records manually as you can find potential important data when you note cross country moves, out of state moves which lead you to job changes.  Sometimes you find their family has grown (new baby) or maybe their downsizing.  Too much intel can be discovered just thru an address change. Plus we confirm via email to constituent that it is the correct address and the one they wish us to use - just another contact point where we are not asking for money.  Often, they email back updating other info.  Also, if elderly family makes move after many many years I google to see if perhaps deceased and we missed it and the address being provided is really for someone else.  If we switch to automation we lose all of that information.
  • I also miss the AddressFinder attributes! It makes it difficult to globally make the changes to records. I have been considering going back to using via Data Health Center.

Does anyone know an easy way to query on LOST addresses updated via NXT AddressFinder?

  • How does one “go back” to the Data Health Center instead of having only NXT Address Finder as an option? I've been trying to learn via support how to get the Address Finder results as a CSV file I can look at and NOT have BB automatically add what they think are new addresses. I'm not getting anywhere yet with an answer from them. If I can go back to the using the Data Health in RE database, that'd be great!

  • I also looked into shutting it off, but apparently, you are not able to disable it.

Can we turn off AddressFinder within NXT webview after accepting it and turning it on?

This Knowledgebase articles shares details about the AddressFinder process in NXT and if it can be turned off once the agreement form is completed.

    Answer:

Once AddressFinder in Data Health in NXT web view has been acknowledged and started, it cannot be turned off.

This feature will run automatically every 90 days.

When activated, the AddressFinder submissions count will be reset to allow for the transition to automatic submissions. You will not be charged for an additional submission that is run through AddressFinder in NXT even if you recently submitted via the Data Health Center. See this article for more information.
