New Employee - Overview of RE

Options

Greetings - our organization has a new employee starting in 2 weeks as a mid-level gifts officer. I too am new to the org and am still learning the ropes, but I was asked to give an overview of RE and how our org uses the system. Does anyone have resources to suggest as I compile my mini-class?

  • 2 questions immediately come to mind, Shelley.

How much will the person actually be using RE? Webview (if you have it)?

What prior experience with RE does the person have? Any other fundraising database?

  • Our org primarily used the DB view as our gift officers heavily depend on ACTIONS. The new employee will do the same. In fact, their solicitor type is called Relationship Manager as tracking donor relations is key. They have used another smaller data base, but not RE.

So you can let this guide your “tour de RE” a bit, knowing that you'll want to explain actions and the constituent record in more detail than how to run a query or a report.

  • Make sure that BB resources - Knowledgebase, the Community, and even the FB group - are included in your class, so that the newbie is aware of how to ask for help directly if needed.
