What is a Single Component Page?

Options

Can anyone enlighten me about the Single Component Page option in PageBuilder? I expected them to appear in the Components menu, but they do not. Creating them acts just like a regular page, with a page wrapper and the whole bit. Also not what I was expecting. I expected them to act how marking a normal page as 'Reusable' acts; like an include.

(And now that I mention it, where are includes? They are mentioned in help, but I don't see the menu options help describes.)

  • Single Component Page means that the page is made up of only one component, not that you are creating some new reusable component.  When you create a new page you can select from a variety of "layouts" that provide a structural framework for inserting components.  In addition to the "single component" layout there are others with different numbers of columns and alignments (e.g., left, center).  So the "Create a Single Component Page" button is just a shortcut to creating a new page with the popular single component layout. This layout is probably most useful when an "HTML Content" component is the single component added to the page, which lets you define the entire page content (except for wrappers, of course) in a single WYSIWYG HTML editor.

You'll find the reusable pages within the WYSIWYG editor (the HTML Content component).
