How do you stop a Welcome Series e-mail?

We currently send out TWO welcome series emails--a week apart.  We need to stop the second one.  How do I accomplish this?  I tried to go into "e-mail campaigns" and tried to edit the Welcome Series, but I dont' think I did it correctly.  Thanks!

    You can stop a recurring delivery by going to Email > Email Campaigns > Campaigns (tab) > click "Manage" for your Welcome Series campaign > Deliveries (tab) > Recurring Delivery List (sub-tab).

    From the recurring delivery list, you can click "Cancel" for the message that you need to stop delivering.  To re-start the message, there's a "Related Action" in this same area called "Steup a Recurring Delivery" - you would need to re-initiate the recurring delivery (and target it to the correct query-based group in your audience for the delivery) for the message to begin delivering again.  Which is another way of saying that there's no way to "pause" a welcome series message or other recurring delivery.  It has to be canceled and restarted.

    If we want to add some contacts to our housefile, but don't want them to receive the welcome email, should we disable the welcome emails before adding them and then re-enable them again?  How long should we wait after adding them can we safely restart the emails and know that the welcome email won't go to those people?

    Hi Jenna,

    Actually there is an even easier way.  For your welcome series recurring deliveries, we included a group on the Do Not Mail list that is called "Welcome Do Not Send".  You can simply add these new contacts to that group and once they are in that group they will then be a part of the Do Not Mail list for the welcome messages.

    This is better than the above approach because in this case you can simply leave the welcome deliveries configured as is but also ensure that these particular contacts don't receive the messages.  Post back here if we can provide more info.
