Managing NXT Constituent Lists

Options
I may be missing something, but I can't find a simple way to delete old, unused NXT lists without individually opening them and deleting them. Nor can I find a way to manage the lists in folders. Have others developed ways of managing NXT lists?

  • Following. I wondered about this very thing just last week!
  • In the past I have had to delete them one at a time.... Pain in the rear! ?

Hi Gary - While training my team, I directed them to set any NXT list they create as "No one else can access" to help reduce the potential clutter for the team as a whole when loading existing lists. But as we have only been at this for 2 months, so I don't have any actual proof this method will work in the long term.

I think you are correct about the only way to delete old lists. This is all that's in the NXT help menu about deletion: Delete a list

To remove a saved list you no longer need, open it in Lists, select More (in a constituent list), Delete , and Delete.

  • Austen,

Question - If you have them mark their lists that no one else can access are they then required to delete them after a certain amount of time if not used and if so, how do you ensure they are deleting them when needed? Do you have a policy on this you would be willing to share? I don't think that would work in my environment - I am the only administrator (we are a small department of 7) so if my team marked it as no one else can access I wouldn't be able to see or delete the lists in question when needed, but I can see the benefit for larger departments.
  • Lynette, I am curious about that security implication in NXT. In DB view, the admin or anyone with Supervisor rights, can view all reports, even those marked that only the user can access. That setting only restricts access from other non-supervisor users. Have not experimented with this in NXT yet, but I do know that as admin I can view everyone's fundraiser workstations ... so perhaps it works the same way?
