adding a specific program name in query string for donation page

Can you add a specific program name to a donation page url so that when a user clicks it that program name is generated in program field rather than having to choose from several options?

Goal is have a user click on link and have "Thanksgiving" be the program name in field.

Definitely! Check http://help.convio.net/site/PageServer?pagename=Admin_Passing_Hidden_Inputs_in_Donation_Form_Fields for full details, but it should be something like &set.custom.Program=Thanksgiving if Program is the name of the custom donation element.
