Sustained gift cancelled

Options

I just cancelled a donor's sustained gift at their request.  Will there be an automatic cancellation email generated and sent to that donor stating as much or do I need to create one and send it?

  • Hi Chipper,

Your site is not set up to send them a message so you will need to follow up with them separately on your own.

If you would like to change this so taht going forward any sustaining gifts that are cancelled do receive an Autoresponder message, you will need to turn on the "Sustaining Gift Cancelled" Autoresponder message in the list of autoresponders on that donation form.  To do this, navigate to "Fundraising --> Donation Management"  then click "Manage" next to the Donation campaign, then in the list of donation forms, click "Edit" next to the donation form you would like to enable the Autoresponder message for.  When editing the form, on the left hand process navigator you will be able to choose the "Configure Autoresponders" step.  In that list, you will need to find the message called "Sustaining Gift Cancelled" and click the link to "Switch to Customized Version" which will enable you to edit the message that they receive.

Screen shot of Autoresponder list... please note that the Sustaining Gift Cancelled AR message is pretty far down this list (see red arrow below):

I did not have the option to "Switch to Customized Version".  i could only "Revert..., Edit, Preview, and Disable."  I was able to edit the AR from there, but does that mean it will go to the most recent cancelled donor or those cancellations moving forward?  And if not, I assume I should send one on my own, agreed?

    Thanks!

oh gotcha... if you already had the "Edit" link available then that means that the Autoresponder message was already enabled.  The reason that i thought this wasn't enabled was because I was looking at the donation autoresponders for the Convio Go! form.  It sounds like you are editing a different donation form that does have that autoresponder already turned on.

In that case, this should mean that the user already received the message (they would have received it when the gift was cancelled.

Looks like you should be set for that particular form.

Thanks, Adam.  I made the change to the Go! form so I think I am all set.  I unpublished the other because we were not using it since we started with Go!.
