Subtype payroll deductions not appearing in export fields

Options
I have created a query of donors who have given at least $1K to a campaign in the past year. When I use this query in my export, donors who use payroll deductions to make a gift, show as having a $0 total in the summary gift field. The total pledged amount is correct and the pledge balance is correct, but the total amount given appears as $0. I've checked to make sure that the gift type is pay-cash and that pay-cash is one of the selected pay types for this summary field.

Any suggestions as to what I'm missing? Thanks!

Your payroll deductions are pledge payments, not recurring gifts, correct? Based on what you said about pledge total being correct I'm guessing so but just double-checking.

Are your gift payment dates correct?

Do your payroll deductions get $0 entered as receipt amount for some reason? Are your summary fields looking at gift amt vs. receipt amt?  Just trying to think of different field values that could affect the $0 amount.
  • Hi JoAnn,

They are not recurring gifts and are booked as pay-cash. The query is associated with a campaign that only lasts for one year, so we don't use dates in the query or export. And we are looking at gift summaries. The pledged amount and the pledge balance is correct, but the gift amount total is where the trouble is.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

  • How do payroll deductions get entered? Do they get hard credited to someone like Benevity or something and then only soft credited to the donor?
  • They are entered just like other gifts.without a third party. In this case, the employee made a pledge, and the gifts are recorded as pay-cash and the gift subtype is payroll deduction on the gift tab in his record. In the export, in the summary field, I have selected all pay types including pay cash to see what donors have paid to date. This record shows $0 for any payments but I can see his total pledged (which is correct) and I can see the pledge balance, which is also correct.

    Thanks,

    Kim

Are there any other filters in the summary field?
  • I went back and looked at the query and added a filter for gift status is active and gift type is one of ... and included recurring gifts here. The payroll deductions now appear in the query, but are still not showing up in the correct field for the summary amount for the total given this year.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help. Still don't know what I'm missing.

Is is a pledge pr a recurring gift? The gift type for a recurring gift is Recurring gift pay cash.
  • The donor would have made a pledge but is paying it off via a payroll deduction. The pay type is pay cash and that is one of the pay types that is included in the query. I have also included recurring pay-cash just to make sure that I have all the gifts.

Are there any filters on the general or filters tab on the summary field in the export?
