Blackbaud Checkout

Options
Hello all,

Last week, I attempted (unsuccessfully) to turn on Blackbaud Checkout in my LO. (Let's put aside the 24 page complex kit, and the fact that we moved to LO after the kit was released...so I am tempted to think it ought to have been done for us during implementation or training.)

I'm stuck on this process: to make a donation form use BC, it has to be in Pagebuilder with the BC code.

My org has been using straight donation forms successfully. We don't put our donation forms into Pagebuilder...seemed like a superfluous step.

What have I missed here? Is it standard to put donation forms into Pagebuilder? A necessary step?

Thanks

  • Hi Kelly Bodie‍ your instincts are correct that this is 'different' than standard LO donation forms that which, upon creation, have and primarily use their own standalone pages. (this is the /site/Donation2 in the URL)

Blackbaud Checkout functionality essentially powers a new experience for the payment process towards an existing LO donation form, so it uses a PageBuilder page - to give it a content layer - with an embedded Blackbaud Checkout form, referencing that donation form ID - within it.

  • Thanks for the response and insight.

This is probably above our ability to answer, but if Blackbaud Checkout is going to be "future proof," and the preferred Blackbaud process moving forward, these steps seem unacceptably difficult for LO users. Is there a plan to make Blackbaud Checkout the default inside LO? Are LO users doomed to taking multiple extra steps for every new form we create (and my org creates a lot)?

Also still sore this donation form>Pagebuilder>Blackbaud Checkout flow was not covered during our training or implementation. :/
