Previous Participant Email to Announce Event- Best Practices

Options

Hi folks,

I am working on our second walk event and I would like some help with the best practices surrounding what to include in the announcement email to previous participants.

Would I add the participant's username and password in that email and include a link to register?  They would use that same username and password from the previous event correct?

For some reason I am nervous about sending out this email, I want to be sure I am using the proper conditionals and the right username and password.

Any suggestions or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

~Allison

  • They do need their old username and password, at least for a teamraiser.

You could at least send them the username they registered with, and let them recover their password if you are nervous about mailing the passwords.

We also had an extra page turned on in the registration process for TeamRaisers which asks if they are a new or returning user. If they choose 'returning' then they are prompted to log in. (Why are these neat features secrets?) Remember, if they don't log in and try to register with their old name or email it complains that they are taken.

    Regards, Brian
