Archiving System for RE constituents

Does anyone move Constituent records from RE to an archive system.  If so how is your system and process designed?

    I'm curious, why would you do this?  What would be the criteria for archiving records?

    I'm just going to second both Karen and Katherine (hi!) with this:


    1.) You should be very reluctant to do this. Archiving data makes it harder to report on, and sometimes you do need to report on very old data to compare it to very new data.

    2.) The easiest method would be to use Omatic's "list management" tool. However, Omatic won't allow you to 'demote' a constituent record to a list if they have gifts on their record. And that's for good reason. See point #1
