How can I create a group from people who donated to a specific donation campaign?

Options

I want to send a follow-up email to all constituents who donated to a specific campaign, but I can't figure out how to get a list of all those people and their emails. How do I go about creating a group from those constituents so I can easily send a follow-up to all of them?

  • When you create your Campaign you can specify a group in step 3. ("All donors to any donation form in this campaign can automatically be  added to a constituent group.  Use the Select button to specify an  existing group or to create a new one.")

That will take care of any donors in the future.

I don't think you can get the previous donors to a campaign using QueryBuilder. I think you'd have to create a report with Report Writer, and import the list into your group in the Data Management > Import/Export area.

Look in Import/Export > Data Sync Operations >  - All Data Sync Operations (TAB) - > Group Assignment Upload.

There's a help link there to guide you in formatting your file for import.

Note that from the ReportWriter report result, you can actually add constituents to a group without downloading the report and using an import. From the report result page, click the thumbs up icon to add the constituents to a group.

Wow, I never noticed that before. Cool!
