Insert current date into an email automatically?

Hi all. I've browsed around, but have been unable to find an answer to this question:

Is there any way to dynamically insert the current date into an email? We're creating stationary and would like to remove this manual step for folks. I'm sure Convio can do this.. just not sure what code to write in.
