Recurring Gift Anniversaries

Options
Hey there! We recently thought it might be a neat idea to celebrate milestones and anniversaries for recurring gifts. So I have a few questions related to that!
  1. What's the best way to query for or report on donors who have these sort of milestones (for example, $1,000 accumulated recurring gifts or 5 year anniversary of recurring gifts)?
  2. What do you do to celebrate these milestones? A special card? A note on the receipt? Tell me your ways!
  3. How do you also keep track of the every-month-check givers? We have several of those.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

  • For a while a few years ago, we were sending a handwritten note each month to all of our recurring givers that had an anniversary that month. We used our constituency codes to do this. We have tagged all of our constituents with a recurring gift as being part of our Circle of Hope. The first year I would pull the query of everyone with an anniversary in the coming month and then go through each record to verify that the date was correct or change it if it wasn't. The notes were impact notes...i.e. "since you started your recurring gift you have provided XX meals for the men, women and children we serve." We saw some sweet notes back from donors and some that chose to increase their amount. It is a great option and point of contact with our donors.
