Recommendations for a Naming Opportunity Inventory system?

Options
Hi there!

I am on the hunt for a program/platform that would help organize our company's naming opportunities. We're imagining something like an inventory, where you could organize all your opportunities, and have a running list of # available and # sold, to keep our gift officers up to date in real-time on naming opportunities that could be available to their prospects.

From a google search I've come across a company called HonorCraft who has something called the "Legacy Curator" that appears to do just that, but I wanted to reach out within the community to see if anyone had other recommendations!

Best,

  • My org used the seating capabilities of the Raiser's Edge Event Module for naming opportunities during our Capital Campaign. Not exactly what it was designed for, but it allowed for the fundraising staff to run canned seating reports for sold and unsold seats. It's a bit of work to set up (each seat will need to be named). The benefit was that all the info could be seen from the constituent record and queries could easily be pulled.

We also use the Events Module to track available and fulfilled naming opportunities; tables are used to track and group together naming opportunities (seats) by location.  We got the idea from Joshua Bekerman bCLO bCRE‍'s BB Community post a few years ago - "Using Event Records to Track Plaques".
  • This sounds like a great idea. Can you tell us how you set this up....is the event the name of the campaign?  We've never used the seating chart but might want to try this for our up coming campaign
