Boys and Girls Club information

Options
Hey all!! New to Raiser's edge as I just got a job with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar job and could give me information about different reports they ran or any general information. I am putting together a binder with step by step instructions on how to do different things. I am just trying to anticipate things I would have to do in future.

  • Hi Kathleen,

Congrats on the new job. What type of work are you doing for the Boy and Girls Club? That might help me better understand what types of reports you may need.

Also, I'd talk to your database manager (if that isn't you). Maybe they can connect you with your Blackbaud Customer Success Manager. That person might be able to point you in the direction of some good resources to help you out. Blackbaud has some great training webinars to help you get acclimated to Raiser's Edge. You may want to check to see if that's something Boys and Girls Club would invest in to help you get up and running.

Lastly, searching through the Community can be a great source of information. I find that someone else in the past has asked a similar question to the one I'm stuck on. Reading through those posts is often very helpful.

    Good luck.

  • I am in charge of updating raisers edge daily. I have ran reports for invoices, monthly reports and in kind gifts for the year. I know you can make a report out of any query basically.
  • Nice! That's pretty cool. I've been thinking about how I can best assist you as you start your Raiser's Edge journey. There are so many reports that are run on a regular basis that I'm not sure just listing them out would be super helpful.

I would start by having conversations with your development team and your financial team. You can identity what it is they want to know. That will help give you an idea of the types of reports that will be of the greatest benefit to your organization. From there you may find an existing report in Raiser's Edge or you may need to build it. I think I could better help walk through a specific report. Plus you may find Blackbaud Community articles that are addressing that same specific report.

And again, I do recommend those Blackbaud University webinars. I don't know if your organization would pay for that, but I found them super helpful. They give a nice lay of the land type overview. Helps illuminate a lot of areas of Raiser's Edge, which is useful as you begin building queries, exports, and reports.

I apologize that I'm not giving you more detailed information. I hope that does help a little as a starting point.

    Chris
