Database Set up

Options
We have been tasked with finding best practices for our database.  We are looking for data entry set up; creating a constituent, entering gifts/pledges, creating funds/appeals/campaigns/events.

Does anyone have examples of their current procedures with regard to the above?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • We are working with the database for Raiser's Edge.  We inherited the set up that a former employee designed and we're not sure if it's best practice.

    We were hoping to find a document that would guide us toward best practices for data entry, reporting, maintenance, etc.

  • It would help us help you if we knew what kind of organization you are.  There are general best practices, and best practices that a specific to types of orgs.  You will probably want to see both.
