Setting up a email newsletter sign up that also generates a record in RE

My organization is new to using Luminate and Raisers Edge. I need to add a an email sign up option to our website and am unsure the best way to do this. As I understand, it will be best that anyone signing up for our newsletter is also added to our RE system. Does anyone know how I would create this sign up form or have any insight as to another way to accomplish this? In our old system I could add individual email addresses to our newsletter and it didn't impact our donor database. Due to RELO integration I am trying to make sure the information flows between both.


Any help is appreciated.

  • In Luminate this is generally done using a Survey with constituent registration info fields - which are special fields that result in a cons record in Luminate.


    Getting that record to RE will depend on your sync settings in RELO. We don't sync cons records to RE until they have some financial transaction.

    Brian's answer is right on for everything! Only thing I had to add is if you're using a WordPress site you can load your Luminate Online Surveys directly on your site/embed them on your site and style them/make them responsive using an open source plugin I presented at BBCon this year- https://wordpress.org/plugins/wplo-survey/.
