Starting December 9th, our process for signing into your Raiser’s Edge classroom sample database will be changing. Please take a moment to get familiar with this new process, as this will affect all future logins to Raiser’s Edge courses.

    Thanks, Mike Adams‍ how are the folks at Blackbaud University dealing with the Shift F2 not working to load defaults in this new environment? or does it magically all work for you? Questions are out to support with no response yet.

    Mike,

    We have a new employee who registered for Fundamentals and when she tried to log on to the class today, we learned of this change.  We are not WebEx supported at our University(don't ask why), and have to use our own devices for training.  Is the process the same?  I frankly do not want the Citrix receiver installed on my personal laptop, and that leaves me with a dilemma about future classes.  Any suggestions?

    Hi Joanne McConnell‍! I am afraid the Citrix Receiver would be necessary for accessing the test database for Raiser's Edge classes. After a course, you could uninstall the Citrix receiver from your personal computer, or potentially use the change to have your IT staff consider allowing WebEx for training purposes. Without a Citrix install, you would still be able to watch the class and ask questions, but you would not be able to do any of the activities in the test database.

    Thank you for the reply.  That's what I thought
    the answer would be, so I have already talked to our IT Dept and
    they will designate a lap top for us to use for RE
    classes.  We'll just have to sign it out.  Fortunately
    they are in our building!

    Hi Elizabeth Johnson‍! I am sorry to say that Shift F2 also does not load defaults in the test environments used for online classes. To load defaults from a default set during one of our classes, you would have to click Constituent (or Gift or Action, etc) from the menu bar and then select Load Defaults from... and then select the Default set.

    Thanks for getting back so quickly Mike Adams‍. We are hoping this is temporary and a new solution will be brought forth. I just browsed the idea bank and didn't see an exact match so I started a new idea for this. I was pretty sure if any group of individuals could find the solution it would be the wonderful instructors of BBU. Have a lovely day.

    Hello.  I am signed up for a gift course tomorrow and have been trying to figure out where the sample database is.  I just found this discussion.  Will it be a problem if I don't have Blackbaud University under my profile at the top right?  The sample database icon is not there at the top either.  I just spend time talking to someone in customer service and they said the instructor may be emailing it to us.  Thanks in advance.

    I've gotten email before course with info to sign in.  Directions provided then to access sample.
