Communication Preferences

Options
Is anyone willing to share with me how they are tracking their communication preferences in Blackbaud CRM?  


I'm thinking specifically about opting in and/or out of certain types of communication.  We have realized over the past few weeks that we need to alter how we do our preferences right now and are struggling to find a starting point.  Is it best to have an opt in AND opt out for each item?  We'd love to hear what others are doing!

  • We're using solicit codes.  We have a small list of the higher function ones...No phone solicitation, Do Not Solicit, Do Not Invite, No Email Solication, Do Not Contact, etc..  For emails, we have the master No Email code, and three codes for each of our campus units (no email - solicitations, no email - event invitations, no email - news/announcements).  The additional email codes were an effort to give folks an option to the master opt out on our BBIS forms.


    We don't have an opt in AND an opt out code.  If you want to collect opt ins, I would go with the version of the solicit codes that allow you to track yes/no on opt in.  I'm happy to talk more if you want to email me directly.
