Creating a query or export to see what pledge a pay-cash is applied to

I'm trying to see if there is a way to create query or export to see if during a specific time period, say a month or fiscal year, what pledge each pay-cash was applied to?

  • There is. I would first create a query of the pledges with payments in the date range you're looking for.  Then create an export of the pledge with the installment and payment information.  I'd put it in an Access database, but if you're better with excel that'll work.  Then filter and report on it outside of RE.
  • You could use the canned Detail and Summary Report and put Full Pledge Amount in one column and payments in another, that way you can see the date when the pledge was made and when the payment(s) came in.

    You can see the direct link between the pledge and the pay-cash through an import file with no guess work!


    Under Admin - Import, create an import file, type Pledge Payment.  Base it on a gift query which captures the payments you want to see associated with pledges.  Once the file is created, it includes the Gift Link.  The Gift Link is actually the Gift Import ID for the pledge to which the payment was applied.


    Once you have the Gift Import ID, you can use it a variety of ways.  Pop it into another query to get more information on the pledges paid, then use VLOOKUP to add pledge info into an existing spreadsheet.  Like I said, no guessing!  I've added a file with screenshots.
