RELO...sustaining gift designation fund change

Options
RELO Users: A donor made a sustaining gift through our site to the General Fund. However, when we spoke with him to thank him for the gift, he changed it to the Capital Fund. We were able to make this change in RE of course. But it's not possible to make this change on the LO transaction. So every month, the recurring charge comes through RELO to the old fund, and we have to just "remember" to change it in RE Batch. Is there a way for the system to annotate/notify the user to make this change?? If the gift has technically already been added to a batch, will  business rules (which we use to pop up messages in Batch) still pop up?

  • We have a slightly different set-up (RELO for constituent processing, ImportOmatic for gift processing, soon to be ditching RELO... hopefully...) so this may not be super helpful. If the campaign, fund and appeal are blank in a batch, when you apply a gift to its schedule it will take the default values of that schedule. So you could clear those values out before processing a batch and force the schedules to take their default values. Depending on the number of sustaining donations you get and your specific business practices (we use the first gift to track the appeal, and the schedule and all subsequent donations get a Recurring Appeal), this may be more work than remembering to do it. From what I can tell, the business rules don't apply to the batch - I just looked at a pending batch that follows similar logic, and someone that definitely has a business rule is not triggering that pop up message.
  • Alex, thank you. I would love to perhaps chat with you about your experience with the LO Connector (Omatic). We've spoken to Omatic about it a couple of times before, but we have declined the idea of moving forward with it, for fear of losing the ability to easily merge duplicates in LO (the way RELO does). It also looks like a complex setup, and would be a learning curve for an already overworked staff. : /  We are currently working with a LO consultant (based out of Canada) to help us re-work our pages. So we're not ready to consider it again just yet. But I'd love to keep your name/number on file, if you don't mind, as someone we can contact to learn about how the Connector works.
  • Did you try Luminate support?

I wonder if they could change the designation on their end, or move the gift to a different form.

I have sort of a similar issue right now. We have tribute fields on a donation form, which we sync to RE via Omatic.

In RE we associate that gift with the tributee as well as the donor. Someone changed their mind on a tributee on a sustaining gift, so now it comes over incorrectly each month. And like you, we can't edit those tribute values on the original transaction, but Support is making it happen (after a lot of explaining.)
