Reunion Registration

Options
I was wondering what everyone was using for the Reunion Registration? We have always had an all weekend price point with an event or two that are stand alone but we also ask which events they are attending. I noticed the OLX can't handle complex events or even the ability to customize a form. I'd love a solution that will work with NXT but at this point if I can take complex registrations, check people in for the overall weekend and each event/session, I'll call it a win. Thanks for your help!

  • I have the same questions/issues but do have our reunion page up and running. Take a look at it, the link is below. I'll wait for answers from others.

Jessica Houston‍ You did this with OLX events? I love love love your registration page. Would you be willing to share some screenshots of your set up?
  • Hi, Marie. Do you have the RE:Events module?
  • Hi, Mary, yes we do. I'm looking to be able to know how many are attending each event along with being able to check them in using an app or something similar so I don't have to print lists which are no longer good as soon as we have someone register the day of the weekend.
  • Hi, Marie. I'm not familiar with any app for checking people in, so I'll be of no help there. But for our Reunion Weekend, I created multiple Participant attributes. I don't know about you, but I find the Events reports to be pretty useless for my needs. I created different queries and exports to retrieve the information I needed.
  • Hi Mary, we found a way to report on the events to get more information by creating individual queries instead of participant queries. Then we're able to pull in information across RE which has aided us greatly. The event module leaves much to be desired and my hope is with NXT they'll get to a better spot with it. We set up reunion in RE as a grouped event with each of the sub-events which we can report on. I will be trying a new software, RegFox, this year which I'll download the reports and then import into the event. We worked with our director of advancement services to figure out what fields we could/not import into the event which has helped. Since RE is a closed API it makes it difficult to find a great event management software that truly integrates. Almabase is close but it's more of a ticketing software than management software.
  • Aloha! I had a very similar question, but the registration for my event is already complete, and now I am cleaning up the mess. If anyone has any insights into a cleaner more "shopping cart" set-up, I would welcome the suggestions.

Ultimately, our reunion events (multiple events over a whole month) were set up as individual events with their own registration (also due to eligibility). But because folks could not register for multiple events in one key-stroke, I feel like a significant number of folks only registered for one event.

Has anyone ever requested a specialized template from BB for their event module? As it stands, the event form is so limited in what it can do, it cannot be an all-in-one shopping cart. Does anyone have any experience with this, and is it worth it? Or did you go outside to a different vendor for your registration? Mahalo!
