Consecutive Giving Report with Lapsed Year

Sooo.. there are a few ways to do this.  You could simply create an Export which makes an Excel file that has ID, Name and then a column with the giving total for each and every year you want to consider.  Then you create a column with a formula [   =COUNTIF(B2:Z2,">0")  ] that counts each year with giving greater than 0.  We've done that in the past. The export takes a while but then the formula is pretty straight-forward.  You can then even import that value back into RE as an attribute and just update it once every six months or so.


The other way we've done this is with a little plugin from Omatic software called ScoreOMatic.  You can set it up to build running tallies of things like that pretty easily.  It's nice because with just a few clicks it will run for 15 minutes or so and update all our alumni records with their "Non Consecutive Years Given" score.  Again, we run it about twice a year...


We're also planning to use ScoreOmatic to build some "Alumni Engagement Scores" in pretty much the same way.... it's a neat little plugin.

There is a cost to the ScoreOMatic plugin but I remember it being pretty reasonable (and they might give you a short trial period for free).  You could always try it with the Excel method first, figure out how much effort it is (and how often you want to update that number) before deciding if you want to buy the plugin.  Good luck!
