Address Accelerator Validating to Misspelled City/ County

Options
We have Address Accelerator and have been really happy with the solution. However, one listing that appears in county and city validates from Macomb to Mac0mb. I have changed it in config under county but cannot find a city list to update. Can this be handled on the back-end? Or is it somewhere in my program that I cannot find?

TIA

  • Our office is actually located in Macomb Township in Macomb County and we have a lot of constituents in the area. Fortunately our mailing house uses all caps on the envelopes for bulk mailings so it has been more of just an annoyance for us. Hope to hear of a solution for this as well.

Have you put a request for the fix into Support? That's the best way to ensure the team that fixes things gets the task to fix it.

I just came across this issue at a client yesterday.  Address Accelerator is capitalizing one letter in a city name and we had never seen it written that way before.  The city's website doesn't have the capitalization, so clearly seems wrong in the Address Accelerator files.

Found this in the knowledgebase but have not tried it yet:

If anyone tries it before I do, or has used the plug-in in the past, please post with any "need to know" information.  I'll report back after I give it a try myself.

  • Thanks for the link to the plug-in, that could be really useful for us. We have a problem with Address Accelerator "correcting" every instance of 'The' to 'the', so an address like '21 The Avenue' becomes '21 the Avenue'.
