Board "Give or Get"

Options
Hello, I need to run weekly reports for our Board "give or get" fundraising amounts -- with the "give" being gifts made by them (cash or pledges), and the "get" being gifts they've solicited from other individuals, companies, etc. I currently don't have a report, query, export, etc. I can run that shows me the "give or get," with the "get" being the tricky part. I currently identify the "get" through both soft credit and marking Board members as solicitors on individual gifts. Any advice for how to run a report that shows all "give" information (cash/pledges) as well as "get" (anything marked by soft credit and/or solicitor)? Thank you!

I do this with a Crystal report. The "get" has a separate query and export.  It is added as a subreport.

It has to be run through Crystal reports as Raiser's Edge does not allow different exports to be used in one custom report.

I can give your more details if you are interested.
  • Hi Marie, thanks for your response! Unfortunately I don't have Crystal Reports, but I'm very interested in how your "get" query/export is set up, as that might allow me to get the information I need. Thank you!
  • For us, the easiest way to get this information was to add the board member as a solicitor on their own gifts.  By doing this, we can utilize the Solicitor Performance Analysis under Analytical Reports.  Gives us everything we need and we have had no consequences to adding board members to their own gifts.

My query just has "solicitor specific record one of___)

The export has the gift date and amount, the solicitor name and amount, and the constituent who gave the gift.

  • I've been wrestling with this just this week. I tried to pull by Gift constituency OR Solicitor List, but the Solicitor List field won't work unless I set it to "Contains" and then the last name of the trustee. Since some gifts are one-offs (corporate gifts solicited by trustees for an event, auction donations from an event where the donor is the guest of the trustee), I haven't been adding the trustees as solicitors to those constituents, only to their gifts. Marie, it sounds like you are going by constituent solicitor? Is there any clean way to pull ONLY gift solicitor without going through Reports and outputting the query from there?

No, I am using gift solicitor in my query.

I choose Solicitor Specific record one of______.  In the box that comes up I can choose all my board members.

Under gifts, you have to scroll down to the Solicitor section.

    I hope that helps.
