Sending regular emails to small groups of donors - Beta vs. LO

Options
We would like to regularly send out emails to small groups of donors acknowledging their recent support so the group of donors will be different each time. We have RE/RENXT/LO and LO Beta however we are a smaller organization and our LO and RE do not sync.

I can compose a great looking email in under five minutes LO Beta - is there a way to import lists for email? Or is there a way to grab the HTML coding and drop it into LO Email?

Are we going about this the completely wrong way? We are looking for something simple to update and is easy to send on a regular basis...

We can invest time into creating a template in LO it is just unfortunate as a near perfect email can be done in Beta with the form templates and is so much easier...

    Hi Stacy -

Are you capturing donor transactions in RE, LO, or both?  If you have the transactional data in LO, you can either: 1) create the donor group in LO and select it as your "List" to target in Luminate Beta,  or  2)  use Giving filters to create a "List" in Luminate Beta.  It's the same data in both systems.  Either way, in Luminate Beta, you would select either the LO-created group (you'd find it in Lists) or your Luminate Beta-created List for your email target.

If you have the donor transaction data in RE, there is no current import mechanism for Luminate Beta. You may be able to export out of RE, import to LO, then use the group as the List in Luminate Beta.

    Hi Stacy,

If you want to keep the entire process in Beta, you can use Lists and the Giving filter ("any gift" within the time period you specify). That list will be an option in "Segment and schedule" as you Finalize your email.

Of course, this process can be automated in Luminate but would require creating a template as you note.

    Good luck!

    Erik
