Why when I am adding a gift to a batch and RE asks whether I would like to apply the gift to a pledge, I say no, but it applies it to the pledge anyway? I try to fix it and it won't let me fix it, and it is getting quite annoying.

We experienced the same scenario. When the pop up message appears. we select yes and then uncheck the pledge box, then select cancel. Do not know if this is the correct process, but it has worked for us,

When you are ready to commit the Batch, you might take a look at the Commit Gift Batch dialog box to ensure that the check box for "Automatically apply gifts to pledges and recurring gifts" is not checked. The settings seem to persist, so if you checked the box when you committed the last Batch, it'll choose the same settings for the current Batch. I learned this the hard way and had a mess to clean up.
