LO Donations Forms vs. RENXT Donation forms

Options
Hi,

We are new customers to RENXT and LO, and we will be using RELO to sync the two platforms.  I haven't been able to find any clear advice on which platform's forms we should be using as our online donation form.  Can anyone speak to the advantages or disadvantages of using RENXT's donation forms over LO's donation forms?  What are the implications of using one over the other?

Further, does anyone have experience using RENXT membership forms over LO membership forms when you have the RE membership module (as I know the data in that module does not flow through to LO)?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Tina,

For organizations with both solutions, I typically recommend using Luminate for your donation forms. It's a more powerful tool and allows you to create campaigns and have multiple forms inside a campaign, which simplifies reporting. You can also monitor tracking codes and customer journeys a bit better in Luminate. The Raiser's Edge forms are nice for quick, one-off fundraising efforts. Your online fundraising will be easier to manage, however, if you have all of your forms in one solution.

Memberships might be a bit easier to manage in Raiser's Edge, though it depends on the complexity of the program. Luminate membership forms are more customizable but I think the management & reporting is a bit better in RE.

    Best,

  • Thank you! This is extremely helpful!

Would you also recommend using Luminate, instead of RE, for all of our emailing?
  • 100% on Luminate(LO) vs. RE e-mail

You can set up interests in LO so that you do not lose constituents forever, the nuclear option.

RENXT e-mail doesn't have that functionality.

That alone make LO e-mail worth it.

    Thanks,

    Phil

    Tina,

If you have development officers who have a portfolio of donors they manage, it is a nice option for those officers to use RENXT to send out an email to their portfolio. But otherwise, I'd recommend using LO for all of your email.

Phillip raises a good point -- if you use interests for your email sends, if a supporter hits the unsubscribe button, it will only unsubscribe them from that particular interest. It allows for more granular control over what your supporters receive.

    Good luck!
  • This is really helpful, thank you!
