in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT®: General Discussion
This is our first year with the Events Module and also our first year with NXT and OLX. We have a golf event with several package options, advertising and tee sponsor options, and an evening banquet which additional guests may attend. Does anyone have a complex registration form for something similar that they would be willing to share with me. I was able to set up registration forms for a couple of simpler events, but being a rookie at this process I'm afraid of creating a form that no one will want to use. Thanks!!

    In my opinion OLX was not really made for the complex event. What I typically do is create as many of the options as different ticket types. That seems to be the easiest way for us to process things internally although I think for guests its a big pain. If you made fields mandatory and say they're registering a four some it requires for example : name , address, phone number for ALL four people not just the registrant. However otherwise you may or may not get all the names you need. Interested to see if others have better advice. Luckily our events are relatively straight forward with plain registration fees.

    This is extremely frustrating for us. I feel like we are paying a huge amount of money for this service, and so far have been completely underwhelmed with OLX as far as online donation forms and using it in conjunction with the Events module. We just got Events this year when we upgraded to NXT, so I'll be re-evaluating it after our events season is over. Golf tournaments are very common fundraising events--you'd think a company as huge (and expensive) as BB would have better options as far as this goes, and customers should not always be having to come up with workarounds. OK, rant over. If anyone has further suggestions I would really appreciate it.

    Are you a member of the facebook group "the Raisers Edge Users Group Support Forum"? The turnaround on replies is usually a little bit faster and I've gotten great advice. I'd recommend joining, they might be able to suggest a more plausible work around.

    Thanks for posting!  Claudia is right in that OLX was not intended for multi-event scenarios. I know a lot of customers are using workarounds to accomplish this and hopefully by now you've found the info you need to move ahead with your forms.


    With our new NXT Events release that is in progress right now, we are building a new online registration form.
