Active Donor Status?

Options
Real basic question here - what does it mean to be considered an "active" donor in LO? Is it based on last gift within a certain time frame?

Thanks!

  • That's up to your organization's definitions and/or business rules. LO has many built-in ways to set and define this information.

A general rule of thumb is a twelve month window on when they last gave a gift; some allow for longer time periods or certain gift amounts.

On an LO constituent record there are the following built-in fields that can also help in writing a query to define "Active"
    • "Active Status" which reflects the records status being usable - active and removed being the most common.
    • "Donor Status" which reflects whether or not the constituent ever gave a gift or not - in addition to "donor" and "non-donor" constituents can also be indirect or joint donors based on other householding or soft-credit rules.
    • First, Last and Largest Gift information only reflects gifts made in LO.
    • External First, Last and Largest Gift information is importable either via Excel or through your normal datasync to your offline/database of record.
    Here's a simple "active" example:
