Help pulling data based on last year's constituencies

Good afternoon!

I work at a PreK-12 school and I need to compare this year's current parents to last year's parents. We do use start and end dates to our constituencies. Is there a way to query (or export) giving information for those who's constituency was "Parent" as of 6/30/18? What criteria or output should I list to get what I need? I fear that if I put Constituency = Parent, End date is 6/30/18, I will miss those who's end date are blank (because they are still current parents).

We use the class year of their children to determine this and don't use constituent code.

If you use "gift constituency" on each gift you can query the date range and the appropriate gift constituency.

I do that for the current year as well. What I'm trying to do is, compare for example not the Class of 2019 parents this year vs the Class of 2019 parents last year, but current senior class parents vs. last year's senior class parents. I'm worried that the way I am pulling the data now, is that if a student has withdrawn, they may not pull in a query because they are no longer coded as in a class.

We don't use gift constituency. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you!

I use this criteria -

Individual Relationship one of Child, Daughter, Son, Stepchild, Stepdaughter, Stepson

And Constituent Relationship Code = Alumni

And Relationship Education status = Graduated

And Relationship Education Class of = '19
