How do you handle Opt-Outs? These folks are unsubscribed from EVERYTHING.

Hi Amy, you could do what you're talking about pretty easily via a User Email Preferences Form (as long as you're using Constituent lists).  The User Email Preferences Form (your email is already required to have a link to one of these on your site) can display constituent attributes; so you can offer whatever options you can imagine to your constituents via constituent attributes.


For example, you could have a table-type constituent attribute called "Email: All comms" and the list could be "Email," "Written Letter," "Do not send" as in your example.  Then another constituent attribute for "Email: Our Newsletter," and another called "Email: Event info" etc...whatever you want to capture and however granular you want to get.  You could even capture frequency, have donors tell you how often they want to get an email.  You can surface these on your User Email Preferences Form and if/when a constituent clicks the link in the email, NetCommunity knows who they are...they won't have to sign in.


All you have to do to use these in your mailings is adjust your queries to use those attributes.  For example, your "Event Info" constituent query for this email list should be whatever query you normally use PLUS, for example, attribute "Email: Event Info" = email.
