Team raiser registrations come as donations

You can't change the gift subtype for registrations and not change it for other types of gifts, but there are other pieces of information that come over the connector that may help. First, any gift that is made in support of a participant's fundraising goals comes over with that participant as a solicitor. So in your batch template for TeamRaiser gifts, include a Gift Solicitor column to see who the gift is in support of. If all you're getting from your event are registrations and in-support-of donations, then you can easily differentiate these by looking at that column. Any gift that does not have a supporter would result in you changing the gift subtype to 'registration,' and any that have a solicitor associated are not registration.


The only complication will be in cases where a registrant gives an initial gift in support of their own fundraising goal. I can't remember if these gifts come over with the donor as a solicitor or not, so double check for that.


Finally, just in general, I would argue that this is not the correct use of the gift subtype field. That field is associated with funds and would typically be used to identify where the payment is coming from (so for me, my gift subtype for all TeamRaiser and Luminate gifts is "Luminate"). This is associated with a credit account number in each fund that these gifts can be associated with, and when those gifts get pushed to FE, it makes balancing very easy. We use package to differentiate registrations from peer sponsorship gifts, and of course the entire event is associated with one appeal, so that makes things very tidy for reporting purposes. Just food for thought.
